About us

Ashley Tobin, RMT

I am a Registered Massage Therapist with 2200 hours, I graduated from the MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy program. I am registered with the Remedial Massage Therapists Association, running my own practice in Cochrane, Alberta.

After high school, I started working in accounting right away. After the company I was working with shut down, I started working in insurance. For over 10 years I have been dedicated in my career as an Insurance Advisor.

Awhile ago, I decided that I needed to follow my dreams. Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted to be involved in the well-being of others. I have experienced the benefits of massage as treatment for myself for many years. Now working as a massage therapist, I get the privilege of being able to help others accomplish their wellness.

I completed my 2200hr massage therapy schooling at the Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy in Winnipeg in 2012. I moved to Calgary in 2013 where I have continued working in the spa industry. I love working with different people in helping them to relax while also relieving any aches or pains they may be experiencing. I perform hot stone, relaxation and deep tissue massages. I’m passionate about and certified in pre and post-natal massage as I love bringing comfort to those during a usually uncomfortable, body-changing time.

When I’m not massaging I love to read, travel and spend time with my wonderful family and friends.

Silvia Desmond-Hoare RMT, CST

I completed my 2200 hour training at ICT Kikkawa College in Toronto Ontario in 2002.
After completing my program my husband and I moved to Canmore and lived there for 13 years. During that time I worked closely with Physiotherapists and Chiropractors in the valley. We took a short break of 3 1/2 years and moved to Penticton BC where I had a successful Pilates/Massage studio and recently returned to Alberta to make Cochrane our home.Since 2002 I have added additional modalities to my tool belt such as Craniosacral Therapy (Upledger Institute), Myofascial Cupping, Advance assessment and treatment for Shoulder, Neck, back and knees, Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Classical Pilates Teacher. Currently I am working towards my certification in Kinetic Orthopedic Massage.
When I am not assisting clients in massage you will find me in Canmore teaching at Embody Pilates a few days a week and mentoring students in the teacher training program.

My goal is to assist you in giving you a massage specifically catered to you, as I believe every body is different and unique. You should feel stretched, relaxed and taller then when you arrived. Followed by home care to continue with self care.
Outside of work I enjoy running with my dog, bike riding the foothills, traveling with my husband and reading a good murder mystery book. I look forward to meeting you.

When I’m not massaging I love to read, travel and spend time with my wonderful family and friends.

Sarah d’Abadie, RMT

I graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Mount Royal College in 2005. I practiced for about a year before developing a strange sensitivity/reaction to mass produced lotions and oils, forcing me to take some time off, not being able to touch anything oil based. Once my skin healed itself, I started experimenting with different natural oils and butters, and have finally found a combination that is not only agreeable with my skin, but great for my clients, as all the products are certified organic and natural. I have a passion for essential oils, their healing properties, and incorporate them into my lotions and massage practice.

I enjoy helping people feel better, and have a knack for finding the “knots”. I believe massage is a step to healing and recovery, but at home care is just as important. I like to send my clients home with stretches and exercises.

When I’m not at work, you can find me camping and quadding with my husband and two kids, riding my horses, gardening or hiking in the mountains. An active lifestyle is what makes the engine run smoothly!

Cindy Murray, Spa Therapist

Cindy Murray worked for many years in the financial industry but it was her love of essential oils that has brought her to where she is today.  Through studying the science of these natural healing agents Cindy was inspired start her own business, Angel Scent Lavender in 2006, in Cochrane, Alberta. There, she created many of the products she sold. She readily admits to being both surprised and pleased to see how many people had a keen interest in her hand-made organic & natural products.

In 2009 Cindy moved to Texas. It was during that time she discovered she had breast cancer. This personal health struggle motivated her to learn more about alternative healing including several therapies she found to be very helpful during her recovery. Throughout her healing journey Cindy has come to understand and appreciate the value of both traditional medicine and alternative therapies when one is fighting for their life. During her own recovery Cindy was asked by her doctor to mentor other women who were going through similar experiences.

Cindy has taken several courses in the healing arts including expanding her initial training with essential oils. Currently she is trained to offer the following modalities: Swedish Massage, Hot and Cold Stone Massage, Natural Face Lift Massage, Reiki and Chinese Reflexology.

Through education and personal experiences Cindy has gained a wealth of knowledge and understanding about the body’s innate healing abilities. She believes that when the body is given the right stimulus and support, it has a greater chance to heal well. She is very excited to offer what she has learned with all of her clients at Pure Luxe Wellness Spa.
